Have you seen Herb?

Herb is our little buddy who lives out here in the canyon with us.  He is a Road Runner who has claimed Branson Canyon as his home.  The only problem is he does not pay his HOA dues! Last year, he had two babies running along with him which made us question whether or not to change his name to Herbette.  Last year people caught him taking a quick drink out of the pool.  One owner, Kevin, said that last summer he even came right up to his front door for a visit.  I see him everyday around 2-4 pm on warmer days over 50 degrees or so.  He looks right at me with those dark little eyes as if to say, "Get back to work, buster or I'll make a meal out of you."  Herb has attitude, but he keeps the spiders away.  He is our little guy and we are proud of him.

Herb - Fine until my karaoke machine broke.

Herb - The Art of War by Sun Tzu, though prefer the 1772 French translation by J. Amoit.

Herb - Well, when you point a finger at somone... there are 3 pointing back at you.

Jeramie - You don't have any fingers.

Herb - Wings are better anyway.

Jeramie - I guess, but you can't fly either.

Herb - Were you born this rude or did something happen to you as a child?

He must have been waving in traffic for the Branson Canyon Owners Fourth of July Party! Herb was asked to sing, but he declined the invitation saying, "Unless you can pay me Union Scale, I'd rather not waste your time talking about it."

Bad News about Herb:

We'll wait and watch -  
I'm the sales manager here at Branson Canyon and Herb keeps me company in the afternoons.  I'm worried.  A few days ago, I saw a stray calico cat wandering and skulking around Herb's bachelor pad.  I have not seen him since.

Still no sign of Herb.  We wait and hope.

We are here in Branson Canyon for Valentine's Day I saw him eating something in the landscaping by the pool.  Maybe he was making dinner for his lady friend.  I've never seen her.

When I asked Herb about this he got real quiet, looked off into the horizon and said that it hurt too much to talk about.  I found him later the day listening to a mix tape of late 80's monster ballads.

Came to Branson for New Years:

I saw him! - 
It was 60 degrees in January!!! We came to Branson for a family vacation and there he was zipping across the parking lot.  Now I'm wondering, where is the coyote?

Herb is happy to point out that the over population of deer has been keeping them busy.

Branson Canyon is awesome. We have so much fun every time we visit. We walk to the lake, skip stones, fish. There is even a little roadrunner who lives at Branson Canyon, what a treat to see him!!

Herb wanted me to tell you that he is not here for your amusement.  While he appreciates your open mouth stares, throw a bread crumb already!
